[EN] How to use Essential Oils around your horse

How do I use the oil around my horse? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

For emotional issues, have your horse smell the oil first. Then, if they like that oil, you can put a drop or two of the oil on the palm of your hand. You can then put the oil on the forehead (third eye), the crest of the neck near the mane or at the poll as well. You can do this by massaging it in with your hands. I also allow my horse to lick the oil off my hand if it is an oil safe for ingestion. You can count on this when working with oils like Peppermint, Orange and German Chamomile for sure! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

For physical issues, place the oil directly on the desired location. For respiratory issues place oil on the front of the chest and of course allow them to inhale it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You can also diffuse the oil or place it on a special diffuser stone in the barn where your horse is located.

How do I approach my horse with an essential oil? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Choose several oils that serve the purpose you want to use it for. Take one oil at a time to let your horse smell it. Do it gently, keep some distance from his nose and let your horse come closer by himself. Observe your horse intensely. Horses are very intuitively and they like essential oils. Often they will need some time to think about what you let them smell. Give them some time before you let them smell the next one.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
